Send files between computers
Pair two computers with a code, then send files either way until you disconnect. Files are encrypted and are not kept on our server.
Show a code
Start here, then type the code on the other computer.
Enter a code
Type the code shown on the other computer.
Files are encrypted and are not kept on our server.
How it works
1. Show a code
On the first computer, press “Show a code”. You get an 8-character code and a link.
2. Enter it on the other computer
Open FileFlint on the second computer and type the code, or just open the link.
3. Send files both ways
Add files on either side whenever you like and the other computer downloads them. Close the tab to disconnect.
Why send files this way
No account, no cloud drive
Nothing to sign up for and nothing to clean up afterwards. Files are not stored on our server.
Both ways, as long as you like
The pairing stays open, so you can keep sending files in either direction until you disconnect.
Encrypted on the way
Files are encrypted between the two computers. The code only works for one pair and stops working once they are connected.
Questions
- Is there a size limit?
- We do not set one. Chrome and Edge save large files straight to disk. Other browsers keep the file in memory while downloading, so use Chrome or Edge for files over 2 GB.
- Do both computers have to stay open?
- Yes. Keep both tabs open until the transfer finishes. When one tab closes, the connection ends.
- Does it work between different networks?
- Yes, for example from home to the office or over mobile data. If a network blocks the usual route, FileFlint finds another one on its own.
- Is it free?
- Yes, and no account is needed. Pro gives your transfers priority.
