Terms of Service
These are the rules for using FileFlint. They are short on purpose. Where the law gives you rights that these terms cannot take away, the law wins.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. Who we are
FileFlint (fileflint.app) is run by Bauza.pl Maciej Bauza, ul. Wojska Polskiego 32/2, 55-100 Trzebnica, Poland, tax identification number PL9151810115 (“we”). You can reach us at contact@fileflint.app. What we do with personal data is described in the privacy policy.
2. The service
FileFlint converts and compresses files, sends files between two computers, and offers an API to paying business customers. You can use the tools on the free plan without an account. The free plan is paid for by advertising and has limits on file size, number of files and conversions per day, which are listed on the pricing page. We may change the tools and the limits; if a change makes a paid plan clearly worse, we will tell you before it applies to you.
You need to be at least 16 to create an account. If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to do it.
3. Your account
Keep your password and two-step codes to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. Give us a real email address — that is where receipts and security messages go.
4. What you may not do
- Upload or send anything that is illegal where you are or where we are, including material that exploits children, and malware meant to harm other people.
- Upload files you have no right to process or share.
- Get around the limits of your plan, share one paid account between unrelated people, or resell the service without our written agreement.
- Attack the service: overload it on purpose, probe it for weaknesses without asking, or use the API in a way that harms other users.
If you break these rules we may remove a file, switch off a share link, or suspend the account. For anything short of urgent we will warn you first and explain why.
5. Your files
Your files stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to do what you asked: read the file, convert it, keep it for the period set out in the privacy policy, and hand the result back to you or to the people you shared it with. We do not open your files, we do not use them for anything else, and we delete them when the time is up. You are responsible for having the right to process the files you upload.
Please keep your own copy. Conversions can fail, and files are deleted on schedule — FileFlint is not a place to store the only copy of anything.
6. Paid plans and billing
Pro and Business are subscriptions. Pro costs $6.99 per month or $49.00 per year. Business costs $24.99 per month or $199.00 per year. Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT and similar taxes, which are added at checkout where they apply. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page at the time you buy.
Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel, and we charge the same price unless we have told you about a change at least 30 days before the renewal. If a payment fails, we will tell you and Stripe will retry for a while; if it keeps failing, the plan returns to Free.
You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage billing. The plan then stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and is not renewed. We do not refund the unused part of a period, except where the law requires it or where the service was not available to you for reasons on our side — in that case write to us and we will make it right.
7. Right to withdraw (consumers in the EU and EEA)
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you may withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. To do so, write to contact@fileflint.app (or use any other clear statement; a form is not required) before the 14 days end.
The paid plan is available the moment you pay, and when you buy you ask us to start providing it immediately. If you then withdraw within the 14 days, you pay us a proportion of the price for the time you already used the service, and we refund the rest without delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal, to the card you paid with.
8. Availability and responsibility
We work to keep FileFlint running and your files safe, but we cannot promise that it will never be down, slow, or make a mistake with a particular file. The free plan is provided as it is. For paid plans, we are responsible for damage we cause by breaking these terms or the law, up to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem, except for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, injury to a person, and anything else the law does not let us limit. We are not responsible for lost profit or for the content of files you or others upload.
9. Ending the relationship
You can stop using FileFlint whenever you like and delete your account yourself under Account → Account data, or by writing to contact@fileflint.app. Deleting the account deletes your files, ends a paid plan at once and does not refund the rest of the period you paid for; if you prefer to use the plan until it ends, cancel it first under Manage billing. We may end a free account that has been inactive for a long time, or suspend an account for breaking section 4 as described there. If we end a paid plan for reasons other than your breach, we refund the unused part of the period.
10. Complaints and the law that applies
If something is wrong, write to contact@fileflint.app; we answer within 14 days. These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection that the mandatory rules of the country where you live give you, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. If you are not a consumer, the courts competent for our registered office in Poland decide.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects paid plans or your rights, we tell you by email or on the site at least 30 days before it applies, and if you do not agree you may cancel before then.
